The subtitle to the book is "How to prosper in a workplace without jobs."

The book seems to have been written with Silicon Valley in mind.

The point of the book is this: the workplace has changed. Employment is a short term commitment. Many of us in Silicon Valley and other places work as independent contractors. But now, essentially every "worker" might be viewed as an independent entity.

I like Chapter 5, "Run 'You & Co.' as a Business." The author advises, don't just take care of your future, also consider yourself as though you were self employed.
