Bhutan: 3-D Apollo Stamps of 1969

Bhutan is a small land locked country in the Eastern Himalayas. It appears that postage stamps are a prime export of the kingdom. Bhutan has been quite a source of novel stamps, including 3D issues manufactured with a plastic overlay giving an illusion of three dimensions. Normally these items would be a prize in a snack, or breakfast cerial box. Here they are actual postage stamps from the Kingdom of Bhutan. We have located some 3D stamps on actual posted covers, so they have seen actual use as postage.

These are rather difficult stamps to image, as the 3D effect is lost. They are interesting, and historic items, nevertheless.
