The Yuri A. Gagarin Issue

On February 2, 1962 John Glenn orbits the earth three times on his first space flight, he becomes the first American to orbit the Earth.

This beautiful engraved design from Czechoslovakia shows the complete Mercury Frienship 7 spacecraft exploring the universe above the earth. Centered in the design is a portrait of a young John Glenn. Beautiful design, but inaccurate one one point: The escape rocket and tower above the Mercury spacecraft seperates from the capsual prior to orbit.
