The Space Accomplishments Commeorative Stamps of 1967
This pair of stamps issued in 1967 commemorate accomplishments of the Gemini program.
The first U.S. spacewalk is shown with the backdrop of the earth.
When this stamp was issued, Sept. 29, 1967, it would be less than 2 year
until the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon.
There are some interesting points about the pair of stamps:
- This was the first "twin" stamps issued by the U.S. Postal service.
- Two methods of printing were used: Offset and Intaglio
- First Placed on sale at the Kennedy Space Center
