Skylab: Overcoming Failure

This is a beautiful engraved design, featuring bright multiple colors. The stamp is unusual in another way: It commemorates a failure, and overcoming it. On the front of the Skylab module you can see the partially deployed solar panels. You can also see the golden "umbrella" to help reflect solar radiation from over heating skylab. The multi-color rings surrounding the sun highlight one area of science that Skylab performed. A cloudy earth identifies another area of Skylab research.
