Tons of Steel
These days, the crane is the official creature of Silicon Valley.
A new steel frame high-rise is going up near U.S. 101 and Bowers/Great America in
Santa Clara.
101 North
Looking northbound, U.S. 101 heads up the penninsula towards San Francisco.
Traffic is good, and at the speed limit at this time in the afternoon.

Old Ricard Observatory, Santa Clara University
This observatory is no longer active, now serving other purposes on the
Santa Clara
University campus.
I got my masters in Engineering Management here. This part of the campus is a nice
place to take a mid-day walk.
Smell the Roses
The Santa Clara gardens are well-kept, there are almost always roses blooming somewhere.
This plant is near the old Mission Church; the flower has a light sweet scent.
Let's come here again soon.

SJC Runway
Looking to the south towards the runway of San Jose International Airport (SJC).
The tower is visible to the right. In the distance is the hazy San Jose skyline.
A long term parking lot is in the fore-ground.
It is just about noon.
